Pieter Devos and Caroline Poels are the principle founders of Devos Stables, both eilte show jumpers and passionate about horses. The pair married in 2015, and now have two children - Lisa and Vic.
Devos Stables is situated on the apple and pear farm of Devos Group, the one of the largest exporter of fruit in Belgium, and is the perfect base for the Devos family and their team. Originally founded by Stefan and Martine Devos, the Devos Group farm has grown tenfold, with brothers Pieter and Wouter future-proofing the business and taking it to new levels. While both sons were keen horse-riders, Pieter has become more involved in the competition side of the stables, while Wouter - despite being a sucessful athlete himself - has shown a talent for organisation and growing the farm. Wouter continues to ride to CSI4* level and is also involved in the stables still. Caroline is fundamental in the organisation of the whole stable, and plays a crucial role in the education and progression of the younger horses within the team, working hard to give all the horses that come to the barn the best start in life. As well as managing the young horses, Caroline competes at CSI2* up to CSI4*, preparing the horses for the highest level in the sport.
Pieter splits his time between competing and managing the commercial part of the apple and pear farm, while Martine and Stefan, although still involved in all aspects of both businesses, focus on the management of the breeding programme and the upcoming generation of show jumping superstars.
