Strong LGCT and GCL opener in Doha

The 2022 LGCT and GCL season kicked off in Doha, Qatar with three days of high octane competition. Pieter was competing for his new GCL team, the Prague Lions and rode top mares Claire Z and MoM's Toupie de la Roque.

Pieter put in a flawless first clear round with Claire for the Prague Lions during Round 1, but one down in the second round saw the team off the podium after intense competition. However Pieter and MoM's Toupie de la Roque put in a phenomal round in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Doha to earn a place in the jump off. Despite stiff competition, Pieter and Toupie kept to their plan, jumping clear again and finishing the weekend in 4th place - a strong result to kick start the 2022 LGCT season.

Pieter said: "[It was] a fantastic way to finish two weeks in Doha, with Toupie taking 4th in the GP and jumping double clear. I couldn’t be more pleased with her. I feel like we’re really starting to understand and trust each other and she feels in phenomenal shape for the season ahead."
