2021 - A Reflection

This year has been a real mix for me and the team at Devos Stables, with some major highs but also some crushing lows.

Bringing home medals in both the Tokyo Olympics and Europeans is a feeling that cannot be transcended, particularly after a less than straightforward path to get there. Nothing compares to riding for your country, and to achieve that during a year of adversity is a memory I’ll keep forever.

We’ve said goodbye to two very special horses in my stable - with Espoir and Apart both retiring after incredible careers. Both are now out together in the field, loving life as they start a new, slower chapter, and while it brings me great joy to see them just being horses, I miss them both enormously; both fantastic partners in very different ways. Comme Laude W has gone to a new stable, and I wish him all the best for the future.

But where some stories change direction, there opens a door for new potential. This year I’ve been lucky to welcome new faces to my stable, and others have started to really shine. They, along with my current Grand Prix horses Claire and Jade, give me great hope and inspiration for the future, and I cannot wait to start the 2022 season.

I’d like to take this moment to say thank you - to my incredible family who support me day in, day out and who are the reason I work so hard. My phenomenal team behind the scenes, without whom I simply couldn’t do what I love, and my amazing partners who have supported me so well.

From all at Devos Stables, we wish you a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2022!
