Biography » Wouter Devos

Wouter (1988) started riding a pony at an early age, just like his brother Pieter did. His first international competition goes back to 2001. Both in 2003 and in 2004 he became Belgian vice-champion. As a pony rider Wouter was twice selected for the EC. As a junior and as a young rider he was drafted several times into the national squad, he became junior Belgian champion and Belgian vice-champion of the young riders.

Unlike Pieter, Wouter afterwards resolved to shift his focus to the family firm. Wouter and Pieter build a perfect symbiosis: Pieter went flat out for the horses and works part-time in the family business, for Wouter it turned out precisely the other way round. He decided in favour of a career at Devos Group and he rides half-time, in the course of which he mainly takes care of young horses.

2014 Became a wonderful year for Wouter. He won his first medal at the senior championship in Lanaken, the bronze one. Also he grabbed two Grand Prix's, every time with his confident mount Tonik Hero. Together they jumped to four international victories and had no less than 22 top ten placings.
